Track tire wear. See which tire goes further.

Mark a tire to track, record its tread on each visit, and Tread Rep works out miles per 32nd — then puts tire types side by side.

Tread Rep tire performance: a miles-per-32nd bar chart comparing three truck tire types, above the list of tracked tires.
How it works

How to compare tire wear in Tread Rep

  1. Track a tire

Tap Track a tire, pick the account, unit and position, and choose the brand, model and size. Or tap Track this tire during a fleet inspection.

  2. Read it on every visit

Each fleet inspection records that tire’s tread depth and the odometer. You can add a reading by hand, too.

  3. Get the wear rate

Once there are miles and wear between readings, Tread Rep shows miles per 32nd and about how many miles are left to the pull point.

  4. Compare and share

Add tracked tires to one graph to compare them, and share a tire performance summary PDF with the fleet.

What the fleet gets

A tire performance summary, backed by readings.

Something better than a spec sheet to decide the next tire order with: how the tires actually wore on their own trucks.

  • Miles per 32nd for each tire type, pooled across its tracked tires
  • The tracks, miles and wear behind every number
  • No rate shown until there are readings to support it

Questions

How do you calculate miles per 32nd?

Divide the miles driven between two readings by the 32nds of tread worn in that time. Tread Rep does it from the odometer and tread depth you record, and waits for enough readings before it shows a number.

How does miles per 32nd relate to tire cost per mile?

Miles per 32nd times the usable tread gives the miles a tire should run to its pull point. Divide what the tire cost by those miles and you have its cost per mile. Tread Rep gives you the miles; the price is yours.

How many miles do semi truck tires last?

It depends on position, the work the truck does and how the tires are kept, which is why an average is a poor guide. Tracking tires on the fleet’s own trucks gives the answer for that fleet.
